Madam/Sir,
Intel and NVS are organizing a contest
for the year 2008 on “Best Integration of Classrooms” among Jawahar Navodaya
Vidyalayas. In this contest, there are four categories of awards viz. Student,
Teacher, School and Region. The detailed information for participating in this
contest has already been circulated vide this office letter dated 11th
August, 2008 (mentioned above) and available on Samiti’s website www.navodaya.gov.in
or www.navodaya.nic.in.
As
on date number of registration made for the “Best Integration of Classrooms -
2008” contest is more than 550. Many of them have already submitted the
requisite entries for the contest. However, some of them could not do so due to
some problem in Internet/ communication. They have been requesting to extend the
date of submission of entries for this contest.
In
view of great enthusiasm seen among the aspirants of all levels for
participating in this contest, it
has been decided to extend the date of submission entries (by registered
aspirants) upto
30th December, 2008.

Ensure your participation in all categories (viz. Vidyalaya, Teacher and
Student) .
(ii)
Ensure to submit the requisite entries within the stipulated time
by the aspirants (all categories) already registered
(iii)
Motivate and encourage your teachers and students for participating this
contest in large number.
(iv)
In case of finding difficulties in registration , uploading or
sending the projects/ entries for the contest, you may contact the
representative of Intel at usha.bhaskar@learninglinksindia.org
or Submit the entries (hardcopy) by post/courier to Intel in the address
given below.
You are also requested to look into the quality of projects/ entries for the Contest “Awards for the Best Integration of Technology in classrooms- 2008”, while submitting. The projects/entries should be creative, innovative and aimed to give a message / theme to society/ community.

NAVODAYA VIDYALAYA SAMITI AWARDS
FOR THE BEST INTEGRATION OF TECHNOLOGY IN CLASSROOMS
1.Introduction
Intel
® Teach Program and Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti jointly announce Contest
for “Best Integration of Technology Aided Learning in Class Rooms”. The
Joint contest aspires to acknowledge the best Practices of Technology
Integration in Education.
This award will be presented to the student(s), who have successfully applied technology in his/her learning process, and thereby have enhanced their learning.
The Award will be presented to the teacher(s) who have enhanced student learning by effectively and innovatively integrating technology supported learning into the school curriculum, and thereby promoted inquiry-based and collaborative learning among their students.
This award will be presented to the school(s), which recognizes the importance of technology in the teaching and learning process, and has successfully integrated Technology Aided Learning (TAL) in the school curriculum for enhancing student learning.
Three
regions would be awarded prizes based on the number and quality of entries
submitted.
All entries sent by Schools, Teachers and Students from Navodaya
Vidyalayas will be evaluated by a panel of judges formed by the NVS
officials,Navodaya Vidyalaya Teachers, Teacher Educators from college of
Education and Intel ® Teach team.
2.Selection Procedure
A panel of 5 judges will be formed; Intel & NVS will nominate two persons each for the panel and a senior lecturer from the College of Education. The panel will shortlist the candidates as per the criterion specified in Selection Rubrics. Each Judge will receive

Madam/Sir,
You are aware a Joint Contest is being organized by INTEL AND NAVODAYA VIDYLAYA SAMITI every year since 2004 to identify “Best Practices of Technology Integration in Education”.
For the current academic session, NVS and Intel have decided to conduct the Joint Contest-2008 for “Best Integration of Technology Aided learning in Classrooms”. This context will have following four separate categories of Awards :
a. Student of the year Award:
This award will be presented to the student(s), who have successfully applied technology in his/her learning process, and thereby have enhanced their learning.
Four National level winners will be awarded prizes and certificates.
b. Teacher of the Year Award:
The Award will be presented to the teacher(s) who have enhanced student learning by effectively and innovatively integrating technology supported learning into the school curriculum, and thereby promoted inquiry-based and collaborative learning among their students. Four National level winners will be awarded Prizes and Certificates.
c. School of the year Award:
This award will be presented to the school(s), which recognizes the importance of technology in the teaching and learning process, and has successfully integrated Technology Aided Learning (TAL) in the school curriculum for enhancing student learning.
Four National level winners will be awarded Certificates and Prizes. The Principal’s of the school will be awarded Prizes and Certificates.
d. Region of the year Award:
Three regions would be awarded prizes based on the number and quality of entries submitted. These regions will be awarded prizes and certificate
The schedules of the Joint Contest -2008 are as under:-

Students/Teachers/Schools/Regions willing to participate in the contest can register themselves on line through a link from www.navodaya.nic.in. Each registered entry will be allotted registration number which may be used by the applicant in all future communications in respect of this contest. The participants are required to submit a detailed write up in the template provided. The supporting documents (Presentation/Word Document not exceeding file size 3 MB) can be uploaded in the link provided in the template viz. Student Detailed Entry Template (for student) / Teacher Detailed Entry Template (for Teacher ) / School Detailed Entry Template - (for School) and Region Detailed Entry Template (for Region).
The complete entries for INTEL – NVS Joint Contest 2008 on “Best Integration of Technology In Classrooms” of all categories should be submitted online. In case of difficulties, participants may submit their hard copies of entries/projects to:-

It is requested that the participation in the Intel - NVS Joint Contest should be exhaustive and should include as many as number of schools as we can.
