Dated : Oct. 26, 2010

Dear Shri/Smt.

Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti feels proud for the best performance shown by the Vidyalayas during the year 2009-10 which is the highest performance in the country.  This is the reflection of the committed hard work and talents of the teachers of the Vidyalaya.  It is proud to say that every staff member of this region made his/her efforts seriously to reach the target fixed by the Samiti and also improving the quality performance.  The commitment and strong conviction with which every staff member works at the Vidyalaya, is in any way incomparable to any employee working in the parallel organization.  This type of commitment is making the Samiti not only move forward but also satisfies the aspirations of the parents and society for which the Scheme is envisaged.  The Samiti is having no doubt about the capacity and capabilities of every staff member whose efforts have brought laurels for the organization.

The Result Analysis is one of the important proofs which makes us to know the strength and weaknesses to chalk out the plan of action for removing the weaknesses.    The Vidyalaya is providing an opportunity to all the staff members in terms of resources and technology in making every student to achieve not only quality performance but also compete in any competitive examination.  This is possible when the teacher is able to use latest technology and teaching through interactive approach of “Learning by Doing as incorporated in NCF-2005.   This involves tremendous exercise on the part of the teachers for understanding the subject thoroughly and preparing for teaching through interactive approach.  This is also the time for the teachers to know the syllabus, weightage of marks and time frame for completion of the syllabus including practicals.  Every teacher should be well aware to the scheme of CBSE examination, setting question paper and evaluation, awarding internal marks on the basis of the norms set by CBSE.

The teachers have to ensure the practice for CCE in both scholastic and non scholastic tests from Class VII-XII.  The entire exercise of “Learning by Doing” is possible when teachers are able to understand the concept and its application.

The Samiti has equipped all JNVs with computers and its accessories and Smart Classrooms.  The Vidyalayas are having more than required equipments, textbooks and libraries.  The internet facility is also available in the Vidyalayas.  The teachers may use these facilities to the optimum extent and make classroom as e-classrooms.  The academic instructions in Science from Class VI-XII are to be interactive and activity  based approach using various teaching aids.  The teachers have to make advance planning of activities to be undertaken in teaching Science and Mathematics and activities to be developed in Class VI, VII and VIII.

It has been often discussed that the students are finding difficulty in the subject of Mathematics and as a result,  the subject averages are found to be lower i.e. less than 70%.  It is the time that the Mathematics Teachers must establish and use Mathematics Labs to teach classes from Class VI-XII through teaching aids of Mathematics so that students can understand better and perform well.  The teaching of Maths should be more on approach of philosophy of Mathematics so that the students can gain analytical abilities of Mathematics.  Similar efforts should be made for Economics and Business Studies.

The Vidyalayas have to plan proper monitoring and supervision of students in providing infrastructural facilities, daily use material, menu to be served in mess and cleanliness of dormitories which will help children to achieve better performance.  Every aspect of the Vidyalaya will have influence directly or indirectly on the students in their studies :
