जेएनवी महेंद्रगढ़ के बारे में
1861 में, पटियाला रियासत के शासक महाराजा नरेंद्र सिंह ने इस क्षेत्र का नाम अपने बेटे महेंद्र सिंह के सम्मान में महेंद्रगढ़ रखा था। 1948 में, पटियाला राज्य से PEPSU महेंद्रगढ़ क्षेत्र के गठन के साथ, जींद से दादरी क्षेत्र (अब चरखी दादरी) और नभा राज्य से बावल क्षेत्र नारनौल मुख्यालय के साथ महेंद्रगढ़ जिले में गठित किए गए थे। उस समय, तीन तहसील थे, अर्थात्; नारनौल, चरखी दादरी और बावल और महेंद्रगढ़ एक उप-तहसील था। वर्तमान में जिले में 3 उप-विभाग (नारनौल, महेंद्रगढ़ और कनीना) हैं, 5 तहसीलें (1. नारनौल, 2. महेंद्रगढ़, 3. नांगल चौधरी, 4. अटेली, 5. कनीना) और 1 उप-तहसील (सतनाली) महेंद्रगढ़ हब है स्कूली शिक्षा की। भारत का वह जिला जो हर साल IIT और NEET में अधिकतम चयन करता है (औसतन)। महेंद्रगढ़ में भारतीय सेना और अर्धसैनिक बलों के लिए बड़ी संख्या में सैनिक हैं। ज्यादातर हर परिवार में एक या एक से अधिक सेना के जवान होते हैं। चीन युद्ध के दौरान रज़ंगला लड़ाई महेंद्रगढ़ के 111 या 113 अहीरों द्वारा लड़ी गई थी जो अब यूनेस्को की लड़ाई में सूचीबद्ध है। जेएनवी मोहिंदरगढ़ की स्थापना 1987 में हुई थी।
